Dance With Me In Mid-Air
Come dance with me my love
clothed in white.
Lets dance like the butterfly.
Those white ones you see
that flit together joyfully.
Once enclosed in yourself
and crawling about in dirt,
I called to you.
I desired you.
You were not beautiful
but I loved you.
You heard my voice
deep down inside
and came to the place I desired
for you to rest.
And while you rested
in my love
things looked the same.
You continued waiting on me.
For the old you died
and your life is now
hidden in me.
And I began to do my work
in you.
All you knew
was that I had hedged you
behind and before
and laid my hand upon you.
You had no clue
what I was doing.
Such knowledge
was too wonderful for you.
It was too high
and you could not attain it.
You surrendered to my plan,
my process
and you put on the new self -
the process of being made new
in the likeness of your Creator,
so that you may attain
a perfect knowledge of Me.
It looked dark.
The way was hard.
You couldn't see well.
Strange things were happening.
All you heard was "Wait".
One day, light came streaming
into the dark place.
And I told you it was time.
On unsteady legs
you waited some more.
And I said, "Come.
It's time".
We danced in mid-air.
You mounted on wings
like eagles.
You ran and did not grow weary.
You walked and didn't faint.
Have no fear in the darkness
my love.
Your wait will soon be over.
We will dance in mid-air.
