Too Much Extra On God’s People

It wasn’t meant to be like that.
The day of rest spoiled
by the work, work, work
and the need to perform
and the need to fill
those pews and rows.
The expectations for money
simply because you walked
through the doors.
The few who decide
how the precious time together
is spent.

The time of meet and greet
given the lowest time
but find that to be
a canvas for the Spirit
to reach out with
the life He so desperately
desires to impart.

It wasn’t meant to be like this.
The attitudes that come through
because of overwork
and the needs that are always
there week after week.
The struggle and issues
each and every week.
So there is the highlighting
of those needs
and the begging and the pleads.
The attention to those who
have filled eternally needy spots
of the many many programs.

But beloved, this was done away
on the cross.
The Spirit was given and life
could be had everywhere
and anywhere in moments
of all kinds and places.
Sweet refreshing of the Spirit
fully available to even two
who may gather. Anywhere.
Freedom to soak in God’s Word
and just be with those
He may lead you to. Anytime.
You are contained in His heart.
His Presence is fully available.
Anytime and anywhere
without constraints and
the crowd control.
In the quiet God speaks.
Filling to overflowing
and the overflow is all you have
to give.
It isn’t about you getting in a car
to go to a certain set building
and only there is where
you can hear God’s Word
and grow in love for Him
and for one another.
That’s all backwards.
It comes in the enjoyment
of the beauty of Him
in your alone time
and just setting your heart
on Him wherever you are
and whatever you are doing.
I read of a man
who peeled potatoes
and worked in a kitchen.
The presence of God so thick
that people could feel it
and they would wonder.
Get outside that mindset
that anything of God
is only found in a
corporate setting.
Wherever two or more
gather in His name.
There.
It is there in His name.
There He is to fellowship
with one another
on a level so rich
and so sweet when we know
He is with us there.
God is to be enjoyed.
He made the way for mankind
to enjoy Him anywhere, anytime
with any person or without.
So be free.
Man does have an angle
because of a wrong foundation
or traditions passed down.


Enjoy Me and enjoy Me
with one another.
Practice my Presence.
Worship with the songs
I put into your heart.
Share those songs with
one another as you see them
here and there.
I will lead and guide you
in the way you will go.
Of that,
you can be certain.
Let My Spirit lead and guide you
and you will find rest for your soul.
For the yoke I have
is easy to wear
and my burden is light to bear.
I, yes, I, will lead you
into rest.
