I've Unpacked My Baggage in Sweet Relationship

You know I've arrived
and stayed for awhile.
We've bonded
and the desire to run
has diminished.
You are getting to know me
enough to speak into my life.

I'm staying.
I know you care
so I listen.
We work out offenses
because closeness like this
always stirs it up.
But we learned how
to navigate these issues
instead of run.

So wonderful to unpack
my baggage.
We sorted through it -
you and me.
You prayed with me.
You listened.
God worked out the bad
and worked in His good.

What sweet relationship
of give and take
if we are willing to trust
and be vulnerable
and embrace the hurt
and believe the other
has
our best interest.
