The Silverware Drawer

Is it any wonder?
Is there anything more Divine?
My silverware drawer
has forks, spoons and utensils
that were never mine.

Then there's the can opener,
the set of nestling bowls,
The knick knacks
and even my drapes.

Washcloth in a shade of cream,
Wii game played many times
and many other things
by those we consider family.

Touches of the love of others
and their presence here
in my home.

A blending of yours and mine.

I thank God for the years
He gave us in our home.
7-1/2 of them
filled with people in and out.

So much laughter and tears,
heartaches shared
and hugs wrapped around
precious friends.

Coffee and hours of conversation.
People healed, baptized
and delivered by our Savior.

Life shared by us all,
impacting our family,
building character
and all hearing Gods call.

Growing up together like
true brothers and sisters do.
It's messy but oh so good
like a whopper from Burger King.

I will miss this home
but looking forward to
more of the same
in our new one.

Bring your silverware.
Take some of mine
and mix it with yours.
We'll enjoy sweet memories
together
as we should.
