New Mercies and a New Decade

The snow falls softly

putting on a fresh layer

like when one applies

pressed powder to the face.

It's been a long winter,

colder than we've had

in many a year

and deep snow 

clings on stubbornly.

And usher in a new decade!

The 20's have finished their act

and a new script written long ago

will see the light of day.

But what a day!

Each day will be fresh and new

like this freshly falling snow.

Each day mercies are new.

Each day filled with surprises

of the One who formed

and fashioned you.

Each day filled 

with intimate moments shared

between just you two.

So dance!

Dance into your 30's with joy.

Because you are in the arms

of the Lover of your soul.

Hear His heartbeat 

and express Him to the world.

And many will dance 

in the light of His love too.
