The Wounded Driven To Prayer

"Pure genius in every way",
the wounded one said.
To the beloved ones
who are privileged
to be broken and torn,
these are the ones
who find the secret place.
They find the secluded,
the all alone.
They find straight and narrow.
They enter a place
where God's wounded ones find.
And He knew they would.
And there they cry.
There they pray.
There they go to the room alone
and close the door
and it's them and God alone.
They come out and say,
"forsaken but not abandoned,
struck down but not destroyed.
Always bearing in our body,
the marks of the Lord Jesus."
The wounded one knows
that they will never leave the alone,
unchanged.
In them, they have identified
with Christ.
In them, He is being formed.
And He is being birthed.
"Pure genius", the wounded one
can say at the end of his life
each day.

"If God has made your cup sweet, drink it with grace; if He has made it bitter, drink it in communion with Him." --Oswald Chambers
