All The Things
All the things we hope for.
All the things we strive for.
All the hype and roundups.
All the energy to make ourselves
to have and be someone.
All those things we do.
All that commotion
and all that fuss.
And what do we get for it all?
A little fame?
A bit of fortune.
A bit of fame
fanned and fanned and fanned,
hoping for a flame?
But what if you've been spared
the arrival to have and be someone
because there is Someone greater?
A Someone so worthy of all
your hearts adoration.
A Someone worthy of ALL your time, all your energy, all of YOU.
The connection between you
and such a One is so very precious.
A Someone in whom it is said
are all the treasure of wisdom
and knowledge.
A One who still yearns for you
to come and He will give you rest
for your souls.
A One who is the radiance
of God's glory,
who is the Beloved One.
A sinless One who was pierced
for our transgressions
and satisfied the heart of God
with His beautiful heart of worship
and once and for all time
paid the penalty of sin
and broke its power
and set captives free.
All those things we set out to
capture - do any of those things
ever compare?
What a feeble effort in the end
when you could have Christ.
Everything will fade at the end.
And only what is Christ will remain.
And He says remain in Him.
All the things we strive for.
All the hype and roundups.
All the energy to make ourselves
to have and be someone.
All those things we do.
All that commotion
