The Gentle Whispers of Freedom In The Morning

The air is still
and the smells of wet grass
hang in the humid,
early morning air
yet untouched by
the sharpness of direct sunlight.

Insects are buzzing happily
from the thousands of blooms
that encircle the burning bushes
that give my front porch
a feeling of seclusion
even as commuters pass by.

A squirrel came to visit me.
He knows me.
I’ve given him nutty treats
in months past.
But I wasn’t prepared today.
When I went in to find something,
he had gone away
In the minute of my absence.
I called to him.

What a treat to take time
in the green misty air of morning
to sit and gaze,
to soak in the nearness of God
and hear His gentle whispers
of love that are all over
in His Word.

Ephesians chapter one,
captured my heart
and reminded me afresh
of what is truly dear to God’s heart.

It isn’t in the performance
or the busyness of religion.
It isn’t in the necessity
of what we often hear
from the lives
of busy church leaders
and their full plates.

It is the beautiful freedom
for which Christ set us free.
Why would we tie ourselves
back to a yoke of bondage?

It is not here or there
that men must worship,
but any man can worship
in the realm of spirit and reality
anywhere and anytime.

Men can draw near to their Savior
and grow in love for Him
and others in that closeness.
Volunteerism is not your heritage
dear child of God;
as much as many may tout
from Sunday to Sunday.

Let us know.
Let us press on to know the Lord.

So few have the revelation
of Jesus Christ.
It is men and women who seek
after God and have been captivated by Him
and have the revelation
like Paul the Apostle.

He did not consort
with the religious crowd
of His day.

When he received the revelation,
he was led far far away
to marinate in His Beloved
who had free’d him from
that religious fervor
and into a real and genuine
relationship with God Himself.

How that changed Him forever.
How his letters reflect that depth.
How often he spoke to believers
to return to Christ.

If religious leaders are sharing
another Christ than the one
that you received,
please run away.

If you are being captured
into buildings and told that
it is there where you must stay
and serve and give of all
your time and efforts
and that has more concern
than being captivated by Christ
and you being led by God’s Spirit,
it’s time to reconsider.

It is for freedom that Christ
has set us free.
Why are you being entangled again
with a yoke of bondage?
We must be taught to live
by the Spirit,
and minister
to one another
by the Spirit
and to know and enjoy God
by His Spirit in this critical hour.

"Let us know, let us strive to know Adonai. That he will come is as certain as morning; he will come to us like the rain, like the spring rains that water the earth."
Hosea 6:3
