Happy Birthday My Son

I never thought
and how far away it seemed
that my first baby
would turn 16.

It boggles the mind.
It makes one wonder
where time went.

And here you are today.

I don't know if I
can possibly describe
how I feel right now
when I think of you.

I love you my son!
You are engaging
and full of ideas and plans.
You let nothing deter you
and easily forgive.

You look at the bright side
and remind me so much of myself
at your age.
Full of hopes and dreams
even if no one could care.

You are perspective and wise.
You see so much and understand.
You don't always articulate
but your eyes of green
give you away.

I pray a blessing for you my son.
I pray God fills you
with the knowledge of His will
to ALL pleasing.
You will be fruitful
in every good work
and increase
in the knowledge of God.

You will know the joy
of your salvation.
You will find delight
in all Gods ways.
A man after Gods own heart.

The sun is shining
and the birds are singing
as I write
on this beautiful morning
of your 16th birthday.
