It's The Little Things
It was her 1st time
braving the outdoors
with her trusty rake.
Those leaves have been
on her mind for some time
and when I arrived home,
I noticed she'd been outside.
After just a little scolding
for going out while sick,
I couldn't help but smile.
Our property we share
as neighbors is wooded
and where there are lots of tree's,
one is sure to find
lots of leaves.
And of all the places
she could have started raking,
she chose the path
that leads from my house to hers.
It's the little things you notice
that make one feel loved.
And I smiled again thinking about
what she did as I looked out
of my upstairs window today.
The acorns piled about the path
are barely there and the sticks too.
My bare feet can tread sweetly.
They just might have to tread
her way again soon!
