See The Song Through To The End
Today I was listening to a song
and was captivated by the melody,
the voice of the man,
the lyrics, the woman singing
and towards the end,
the crescendo as both joined together
along with a chorale of voices
and sound.
And this got me thinking,
"How often do we see something
through to the end?"
How many times have we
listened to the beginning of a song
only to be bored very quickly
and change to another?
How often in composition of music
does a song start out slow and precise
and while you listen, it evolves
and changes in so many ways
and by the end, even the musician
has come to a place in the music
where there must be this exquisite
arrangement of all that can be given
to make this piece complete.
How often we miss this crescendo,
this exquisite masterpiece of sound,
this culmination of all that makes
this particular song into its fullness?
Life is this way.
You may not think about your life
as a song composed by a master.
We are quick to change the things
in life that aren't moving along
as we'd like to see it.
We run from that marriage,
dream of what the grass is like
on the other side,
sometimes throwing out
that relationship with a friend
because it's just too hard.
But what if we didn't?
What if we trusted the composer
and listened carefully to each note
and then two together and the change
of tempo and the melody interwoven
with both high and low notes?
And then, as a glorious prize
of this masterpiece,
we come towards the end and find
a merging so gorgeous, it takes
our breath away and captures us -
taking us to a whole new world.
So let's take the bad with the good,
the low notes with the high,
the simple with the complex.
Carefully listen. Wait.
Take the time. Don't change tracks.
Don't try to rush to the next song.
Be in the moment.
The composer is building
a masterpiece and that masterpiece
is you.
It's His work. It's His melody.
It's His way of forming Himself in you.
Wait on Him and don't be discouraged
or run too far ahead.
He made time for us, so let these moments in eternity with Him
come with special care and attention.
He cares for you.
Stop. Listen. Learn to appreciate
His song that is your life.
Be patient. The crescendo is yet to come.
