Where Are The Cheerleaders?

Where are the cheerleaders?

The ones who stand on the sideline,

who know the game is rough,

the opposition is extremely tough.

No matter the play,

they cheer you on 

and call out your name.

They aren't jealous 

that you'll steal their position

or want to take your ministry.

They see the struggle you go through,

the aches, the pain,

the joys, the triumphs

and cheer for you with a vigor

that never waxes or wanes.

Where, oh where did they go?

Come back.  The team needs you.

Don't get distracted.

Your role is so important.

God, bring back the cheerleaders.

We need their bold faith and passion.

We need the encouraging words.

The front lines do get tired.

Where are the hands to hold them up?

A whole group of cheerleaders 

have gone before us.

They are in the grandstands.

Mighty men and women of faith.

God, I'll be that cheerleader for you.

I'll cheer on your team.
