The Veil of Blue As The Rain Falls
In veil of blue
from ceiling to floor,
I sit.
Blanket covering my lap
from the soft cold
oozing in from open window.
The rain falling rhythmically
on this leaf and that.
Rumble of thunder awakens
as the seasons tussle
between spring and summer
here in central Florida.
The warm and sweet Costa Rican
fills my body with each slow sip -
a gift from special friends,
in coffee mug exuding
so many hopes and possibilities.
Dreams pondered.
Moment captured
as I read from my Beloved book.
Pen in hand
and notebook gathered
within eyesight of hammered dulcimer
beckoning me to play
some of it's 68 notes.
So many memories
with each item within my view.
Spending intentional time
in this space we call a sunroom
overlooking our little lake.
Laughter from main room
of man and teen
enjoying a man show together.
Ducks quacking in the background
sounding happy in their
watery playground.
This night feels cheery
and I wonder why all mankind
don't make for themselves
a place
just to be
alone.
I want to write a book.
As notebook on my lap
is pretty full.
Maybe even two or three.
My first one most likely
about God's glory.
In His perfect timing.
