Change is What It Is.

There are roads you take
and roads you lead others to
and they may be roads
that no one has ever been to
and you begin to feel
the strong opposition
and hear the ugly words
that doubt you are hearing correctly
and the opposition over time
gives the ones on the receiving end
a hurtful disposition.

God leads and we follow.
It looks like we are leading
so we get the brunt of the battle.
So we left and we learned stuff
and now we want to come back.

But I am happy.

I didn't know certain things
about leaving all.
I didn't understand the pain
and loneliness out there
and how long it takes to build
friendships and community.

I didn't know how things worked
in other climate and regions
and cultures.
I have a better picture now.

I have a social book
with a whole year of pictures
and memories in an exotic city
called Miami.
I lived there you see.

I have a whole book to be printed
in a city called DeBary.
I lived there too.
My family and me.

I have a book on adventures
to a city called Naampa, Idaho
and pictures of our journey.

I saw mountains and deep valleys,
oceans blue, palms swaying,
iguanas, whole areas of town
that were different countries
in miniature.  I met people
from all over the world and
ate foods I'd never even knew
the name of
and cooked them too!
We housed travelers
from this place and that.
And even a young couple
from the country of Columbia.

So when I think about our move
and the original plan we had thought
and how things changed
and all that,
I will smile.

It was oh so hard.
So much I had to learn
about myself and what I could take.
But in it all, God got me through.

And I get to go back to Indiana
and be with family
and friends again.
I missed them so much!
