God Is Changing Me With His Word
Sometimes in this world of strut and exalt, of push down and judge, of ambition, toil, arrogance and relating on superficial levels;
I find that the steady lamplight
of God's light streaming upon
my heart and soul, infuses me
with something so precious
that no amount of money
or bribing could ever buy.
As I sit under the lamplight
of who He is and reveals Himself as
in His precious Word (the Bible),
He reveals of love so precious,
a hope that doesn't fade,
a guide for my feet,
a light for my path.
It's a cord of connection
as in a beam of light
like a flashlight may give
in a completely dark room
and it's glow beams
upon my heart
and into my soul.
My spirit picks itself up
from the cold, dark floor
and the chains unseen
break off as if made of chalk.
As I look into the beauty
of His eyes searching
the eyes of my heart,
it melts away the stone,
it heals the wounds
and applies fresh tissue
to what lie atrophied underneath.
He gives me strength
to sit up and courage to stand.
My arm reaches up to take
His right hand.
And though my legs
falter in the intense love,
mercy, grace, truth and compassion exuding from Him,
He pulls me near
and I find myself embraced
in all that He is.
His arms around me
penetrate every dark place
and my whole being becomes new.
Then He carries me -
All the while putting His Spirit
in me.
I walk in His Spirit now.
My life that I once knew
is far behind me now.
It's so dark back there,
I couldn't find my way back
even if I wanted to.
I am no longer in the dark.
I am no longer apart from my God.
His Word that is a lamp
for my feet
and a light for my path
is a cherished part of the way
I spend my time.
Everything else that pulls me away
from the light of the Presence
of my precious God
I can no longer find joy in.
Because He is mine.
He stamped me with His seal
and called me His Beloved.
How precious is that?
So in this life of all that sweeps by
like a tornado or the dust whirls
in the desert,
He is my secure rock
who hides me in the cleft.
Nothing can touch me
when I stay in Him.
The atmosphere is rich.
It is warm and full of love.
It allows me to see in the moment
with eyes that see like He does.
Each moment is rich
and full of Divine outlook.
He lets me see with His eyes
and hear with His ears
and speak with His words.
Oh that we could all
lose ourselves in Him
and find Him the greatest joy
of our existence.
Oh that we could be entirely
wrapped up with Him.
Where He leads His sheep
they will follow.
No turning back.
