Godly Friends - A Prelude Of Heaven

I'm not much of anything
and don't have rank or title
and yet my friend still cares
and she likes to be around me.

She carves out time to listen
and lovingly gives counsel -
carefully and gently speaking
into my life with the heart
much like the good Shepherd.

It gives me courage to ask
about what she see's
in this season of my life.
And when I listen to her speak
I know I can take those words
and humbly consider.

Most, if not all, she shares with me
is resonating with a frequency
I'm also in tune with
and the harmony of her words
flow in with the voice of One
who loves me too
and I feel like it's a moment
almost like being enraptured
in God's Presence in worship.

I love the friendship of one
who is close to God's heart
and in tune with His Spirit.
I feel most of all like it is
a prelude to the magnificence
of what our relationships in heaven
will be like.

Friend, I so appreciate you
and I'm learning so much
from your example.
I pray I can be just as gentle
and genuine
in my interactions with others.
