In The Scope Of Eternity (To See Is To Be Changed)

I was 377 feet above the ground and the view I could see all around me was breathtaking. Paris, viewed from ground level is beautiful indeed from the smallest of detail, around each corner and even the way life happens on a daily basis in its sameness and familiarity. But on this level, 377 feet up, I could see out over the area I had walked upon below. God wants us to see His Son and see our lives through His spotting scope. Take hold of His scope for you in the Bible and ask Him to show you how to see Him and your eternity with Him in it. Give Him permission to wrestle with your affections like the man who wrestled with Jacob until daybreak. In this process He turns your face towards His to shine the light of His glory in the face of Christ. You will see your inheritance and your true home in the scope of eternity like those who laid hold of the horns of the alter and wouldn't let go.

Look through the scope for yourself. The more you see with your own eyes, the more you are changed. It is entirely one thing to listen to someone tell you what they are seeing through the scope and describing their own perspective using imperfect words than you seeing for yourself. Seeing for yourself brings the experience into you. It changes you on the inside.

Seeing Paris for myself has changed any misconceptions I may have had and strengthened some of the romantic ones. It revealed to me that what others have told me about it are true and many things that just can't be conveyed with words are now imprinted inside of me. This happens when you see for yourself.
