Be The Bride, But With Others, Be Like A Maid Of Honor

When we are with others, our spiritual role is to be like a Maid Of Honor. Our role with each other is one of close affection and our relationship to each other shows we are trusted and dearly loved. In this type of role, we need to consider those we are in relationship with, like the bride-to-be getting ready for her groom. We help the bride-to-be to prepare for her wedding day in whatever ways she needs. We help them in their love for their groom. We help ease the bride in her preparations. We remind her of the grooms love for her when she may have misgivings or feels unattractive. We speak words of comfort and hope as the big day approaches.

But in regards to our own relationship with God, consider yourself as the bride. The cherished bride-to-be. The one who was chosen and picked out to become His and His alone. How precious and spotless you are to Him. How much He longs to be with you.  He already considers you his bride as we make ourselves ready for Him.  Even the Spirit in us yearns for the day of our being one with Jesus when He comes.

So with each other, be the maid of honor and point others to their Groom. As for yourself, consider yourself the bride and bask in the cherished position that you are His.
