God Holds A Fresh Vision For Your Life
Have you ever noticed that when you get a fresh vision for something to be changed, the old way things are don’t satisfy you anymore? Think of that room remodel you have in mind. All of a sudden, you have a vision of what you want that room to look like and you just can’t see that room staying the same for very long. You start preparing for the change. You look for ways to start the process and think about what needs to happen first. There is preparation and planning. There is the cost involved - but no matter how much is involved, you have that vision in your mind of how beautiful it’s going to look when you’re finished. And that brings great joy to your heart through the hard times as you are transforming it.
Think of this in a spiritual perspective. God has a fresh vision for each of His children in His mind’s eye. He see’s you completely transformed and the beautiful place He wants to rest in. If He didn’t, He’d be OK with you staying the same way. But He always has this fresh vision of who you are in Him. He wants to see you transformed into the image of His dearly loved Son. He counted the cost and prepared the way for this transformation. And will He not see it through in you? The process is much like a room in the middle of a remodel. Have you experienced a room that you’ve been working on and the mess it’s in as it’s transforming? My husband and I are working on our bathroom right now. We wanted to take the window out but realized it’s the only vent of moisture for the room, so we had to go and purchase a vent fan and it took my husband countless hours to install the fan in a place one had never been before. Then we could take out the window. But then we had to cover where the window was with something water resistant. In the process of putting in the vent fan, we realized that a faux ceiling had been loosely put over the existing ceiling and that had to come off. Under that, the plaster had big hardened places of glue that have to be chipped off and the whole thing sanded to be able to put new texture over it and for it to stick. What a mess!! What a process just to get to this point. And it has taken months already. And the bathroom looks TERRIBLE!!!! But both of us have a vision for that room and so we don’t give up and we excitedly move forward with the project little by little. It will look beautiful and amazing for family and friends and future guests to use.
So when we are being transformed, realize that your life may look more ugly than pretty when God does the deeper work. He holds a vision for you that never fades and the end result is all glorious. You will be like His cherished Son. Yield to the hard process and tell yourself that you belong to God and NOTHING can separate you from His love. Nothing. He will not ever let you stay the same. And as painful as it is in this life, one day all of us will see the precious beauty of His plan and when we see Him, we will be like Him. Truly, it will be all-glorious.
