The Transformed Will Feed On Christ

Just across the street from where I live, at the corner of my neighbors home, is a thriving, flowering bush. It’s a bit overgrown and though most other blooms are dwindling away because we are now into the fall season, this one still has touches of delicate purple blooms heavy enough at the edges to cause them to droop.

But this bush attracts monarch butterflies and I love to see them regularly come and go, drinking in the sweet nectar that attracts them to it. It’s a pleasure to sit here on my porch swing and look up and watch them. Even inside the house, I can look over and glimpse their joyful wings in flight.

How amazing it is that God not only transforms our lives but also created certain beautiful things that feed and nurture us. How sweet to be transformed and feed off of His goodness and His Life. When we speak life. When we offer mercy, love, grace and forgiveness. When we encourage each other and build each other up. When we soak in His Words and sit with Him just to be near.

Jesus said, “The Father of life sent me, and he is my life. In the same way, the one who feeds upon me, I will become his life.”  And anytime Jesus speaks about life, there is transformation.
John 6:57

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
