When You’re Home, It’s Comforting
My heart feels comforted
when I know my close friends
are home.
Why is that, I do not
truly know.
When children are gathered
and all the family is tucked in
and safely warmed.
When tummies fed
and laughter is heard
all throughout the home.
When kitty curled in sunlit spot.
Maybe the joys
that naturally abound
when someone feels safe
and people are home.
Of course for those who know,
I do love a good spiritual parallel
and the thoughts
brought me here.
Jesus knew it was time
to go home to His Father.
When He arrived after He
had accomplished His purpose
of dying so all mankind
could know the Father
like He did,
there was such joy in heaven
at the entering of Jesus
into His home.
The Fathers heart so deeply full
and love spilled out to all mankind
as the Spirit of this beautiful reunion
was sent to envelop all
who loved the Son
and believed in His name.
Home became for mankind,
the very heartbeat
of God.
When we abide in our home
with Him,
nestled deeply into His heartbeat,
there joy spills over
and there is sweet rest to be had
and the Father is delighted
to be made one in the love
that envelops us all.
What more could a Father want
than for all who He loves
to be together in one home.
Just like the words of this song,
“Your presence is the air I breathe
The song I sing, the love I need
And without it
Without it I'm not living.”
We are His children
and we are home with Him.
