I Lubba Dubba Do

My daughter and I
break out into song
quite often.
I start one and she picks
right up
and we either complete
the song together
or I inwardly chuckle
just to hear her continue
a song I instigated
for that very purpose.
More often than not
these days,
she is the instigator
and I happen to find myself
playing right along.

We laugh so much
at the funny antics
that come from moments
like these.

Tonight she was singing
this really silly song
in her joyful melody-making self.
And I picked up
some funny melody
to add to it
and together we created
some kinda something.

Spontaneously I hear her say,
"I just love you Mommy".
And out came the silly words
in song, "I lubba dubba do".
