That One Thing

When you are surrounded by voices and pressures to do this and that, be here and be there, the expectations, the events and the desires of others.

And truly all you want is that one thing - really, that one thing.  How do you stay in that one thing?  Is it more important to us than anything?

"Now as they (the disciples) were journeying on, He (Jesus) came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed Him to her house.

She had a sister named Mary who took her seat at the Lord's feet, and remained listening to His message.
But Martha was getting worried about having to wait on them so much, so she came up suddenly and said, 'Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the housework alone?  Then tell her to take hold and help me.'

The Lord answered her, 'Martha, Martha (He said her name twice meaning she was known by Him and loved), you are worried and vexed about many things (isn't that true of so many today).  But there is actual need of few things, really of only one thing.  For Mary has chosen the good portion which must not be taken away from her.'"
Luke 10:38-42
