Micro Adjustments Make A Huge Difference

Look at the reed placement on a saxophone.  Just a tiny off placement of the reed as it aligns with the instrument can cause a huge amount of vibration.  But with the right adjustment, the sound can be crisp and clear and pleasant for the musician to play.  The musician can tell the difference even if the hearers may not notice.

A new micro adjustment piece was added by manufacturers to help photographers with focusing on a subject instead of the camera focusing either just before or behind the subject.  Even though their intention in doing so may have been to increase profits by having less equipment returned for calibration, photographers are finding it to be very helpful.

I'm sure you could think of other examples of how micro adjustments make a huge difference in everyday life.

And isn't it this way in our own life each day?  So often we can be tempted to be discouraged when we pray.  We look for big and instant results for ourselves and others.  As you grow in your relationship with God, with time, you notice that God has heard every single one of your prayers.  He's been making micro adjustments in your heart and life and in those around you.  Those micro adjustments make a huge difference.  He is a master of the change of heart.  He knows each of us intimately.  In fact, He knows you better than you could ever know yourself.  So be encouraged friend.  No prayer goes unnoticed. No heart longing for God or cry goes out without your being changed by Him.  He often uses ways to do this that are unconventional.  The everyday life situations and encounters are by no means an accident.  He knows how to form Christ in you.  Take a closer look at your daily life and the frustrations that occur.  Look at those relationships around you in a new light.  He is working in your life.  He is making adjustments.  They may not seem huge but the  end result is that when Christ appears, you will be like Him.  You will see Him as He is.  (And seeing Him is a result of all He has done in you.  No one can see Him without He Himself opening the eyes of your heart.)

So you have this hope.  This is what Paul is referring to when he  states in Romans 8 that a hope that is seen is not real hope.  He asks, "who hopes for what he actually sees?"  But if we hope for something we do not see, we keep on patiently waiting for it
(Romans 8:24-25 Williams Translation).

You have God's Spirit in you.  In Romans 8:2 it says He is a life-giving power.  Through union with Christ Jesus, this life-giving POWER of the Spirit has/is setting you free from the power of sin and its wage of death.

Believe it.

Further, this life-giving Spirit is helping us in our weakness.  Not only do we not know ourselves and what we need to help ourselves - we do not know how to pray as we should.  But look at this!  "..the Spirit HIMSELF pleads for us with unspeakable yearnings.  He pleads for you in accordance with God's will.  Not your will, God's.  The Spirit pleads for God's will for you in all your weaknesses.  That is why we shouldn't focus on our weakness.  We will always be weak in ourselves.  Even our own seeming righteousness does not stand a chance in God's presence.

So dear friend, you must stay in union with Christ.  He is seated at the right hand of God and through His obedience to His Father through His death on your behalf, His blood spilled out for you, His perfect remedy and payment for the sin of all mankind FOR ALL TIME - past, present and future,
YOU can come boldly before His throne of grace to find help in time of need.  And never let the enemy try to tell you that you can make it even one moment without desperately needing Him.  Fix your eyes on Jesus.  He is the author and perfecter of your beautiful faith (For without faith it is impossible to please Him).  For the joy set before Him, Jesus endured the cross and despised its shame and is now set down at the right hand of God.  Consider what He did for you for all time.  Set your mind on Him, on things above.

You have been given the life-giving power of the Spirit through your union with Christ Jesus.  The life-giving power of the Spirit has triumphed, trumped, won for all time, smothered out the power of sin and death.  This is the hope you have.  Truly, Christ in you IS the hope of glory (your glorification in Him).  And your seeming weak prayers are being answered in micro adjustments that are making a HUGE difference!

So don't stop praying!  Keep expressing the yearning inside for God!  Don't see what you like in yourself?  Get your eyes off yourself and keep fixing them on Jesus.  God Himself said He works in you to will and do His good pleasure.  Keep on seeking Him and you will find.  Keep coming to Him when you are weak and heavy laden and He will give you rest.  Keep casting your cares on Him believing He cares for you.
