We Need Time To Process
Maybe we were never meant
to have all the answers.
Maybe the fact that we all
go through things
that overwhelms each other
is the proof that each of us
needs and can point each other to
the only One who can accept
all our intricate needs
and in Whom
we can find relief.
So we hear one another's story.
And if we are patient
and allow time to let others process
what they've heard
and let them do their God thing,
in time we can learn to encourage
and hear what God wants to say.
We can take time to pray
for each other in our quiet moments.
When we are patient in the process
of building relationship,
we can see progress made.
And in the end we see
that it wasn't the person
who had all the answers for us
or could snap to attention
and do all we demand.
It was the ones who were there
when the need was desperate
and the heart couldn't even utter
or formulate a plan to move forward.
But they stood by and walked with.
And stepped in
when they heard they could.
Sometimes it isn't the immediate
gratification of all we think
is important in that moment,
but give God time to speak
and give ears time to hear
and give mouths time to
graciously form
words.
