My Kind of Man

This is my kind of man:

He waited for me
all my life,
patiently bearing
all things.
He hoped in all things.

Hard working
to provide all my needs,
always looking
for opportunities.

Unkind words never spoken
even when provoked.
He didn't throw words
back in my face.

He never backed down
or threw in the towel
even when tempted.

A safe home he provides,
never having to fear
for my life on the insides.

He loves our children
and keeps things light.
His humor sometimes
causes me to roll my eyes.

Movie choices we don't always agree.
Slapstick comedy
never my thing.
But to hear the belly laugh
as he roars with delight,
causes me to laugh.

I look forward to great years
together as we grow.
There were some rocky ones
but the sea of life
isn't always a calm one.
