Junk in the Basement

We were already on our way North, the moving truck was mostly filled and hearts were anticipating meeting up with loved ones and the journey ahead.
Then I remembered with sinking heart that we had forgotten to pack up the basement of the home we had just left behind.
So I turned the moving truck back around and wondered about how things would fit.
I walked down the basement stairs with my daughter and her friend and looked around at all the stuff.  And as I started to pack some of it, I realized that all of it was unneeded.  There was a walk-in closet full of clothes that used to be the kids but was too small for them.  There was old furniture no one wanted anymore.  Just a bunch of junk.

I awoke from the dream and realized that stuff from our past is like all that junk in the "trunk" - or in this case, the basement.  God wants us to move forward to a good journey with Him full of adventure and who knows what, but we have to let that old past go.  He is saying to you that it isn't necessary to haul that stuff around anymore and be free from it and go forward with great joy!

And I tell you what, it truly is a relief not to have to move that junk from place to place!
Be free!
