The Breakthrough Hidden In Your Breakdown
Everyone at some point has a breakdown.
That poignant moment when you realize you've run the hamster wheel of the expectations and pressures of life for way too long and your spirit needs to take a break.
It's easy to assume a breakdown is a bad thing. We sometimes hear whispers of this person or that who have "fallen" so to speak.
But what if a breakdown is a good thing? What if the spinning of the hamster wheel is graciously brought to a halt and you decide to step off?
I'm not sure when it happens for most people - I'd say when one's spirit has had too much and let's you know in more than one way "enough is enough", for some it can be heard sooner and for some, it can come later.
But when it does come - that sweet yet confusing moment where your spirit acts out against your body that is trying to demand it continue on as if nothing has happened - that decision moment is when everything changes.
Some of you have been pushed and shoved all your life until you came to this breaking point. You're done trying to please everyone. You've had enough of saying yes to every pressure to perform. You come to the realization that you aren't in charge of people's happiness. You learn that you can't be the hero in everyone's life. And then the dawning of revelation that every single person in your life will be OK and move forward in spite of the wheel standing motionless.
Over time, your spirit can refresh and relearn what it means to be a human being. To find joy in the silence and not be rushed to please or perform. It stretches with delight to be free of the circus chain to bask in sweet moments of alone time with just you and God. And you learn how to not let the pressure to get back on the wheel cause you to feel guilty.
You may understand in time that your breakdown has been quite a blessing in disguise. What some may consider a setback was truly a God setup. You'll never get back on that wheel again. And the heart of your spirit beats with life and smiles in the profound love you've found in the stillness. The peace of God is your hearts ruling factor and guides you into deep fruitfulness to see with His eyes, hear with His ears and find hearts beating in unison. And the river of life-giving waters flow through you and can refresh all you meet.
Are you tired and thirsty? "Come to me", says Jesus. "All you who are weary and heavy laden. And I, yes, I, will lead you into my rest." Enter breakthrough.
