The Beauty Of The Creation Of Time To Work On The Eternal

Often as Christians (those called by Christ’s name), we forget we have the life-giving seed of God implanted in us. It’s His power within us to will and do His good pleasure. We wonder why the Christian life seems so desperately hard. It seems the more we try to be a Christian, the harder it is to attain.

In Romans, there is the in-depth look of the battle between the Spirit in us and our flesh or “lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of this life” as John wrote in his little letters.

As Christians filled with the Life-giving power of the Spirit, in order for that Life to flow, we cannot keep working against it by letting the self-life stay in place. The self-life is opposed to the Spirit and the Spirit to the self-life. There is always a HUGE battle.

God’s power in us wants to be in full control and it grapples with the self-life in our lives and until those things are conquered by the Holy Spirit and given over to the death that is required in those areas, then and only then, can the power or Life of God begin to be displayed. He will have the victory. But are we willing to yield those issues completely and daily? Let’s take the beauty of created time to do the kinds of things that are eternally valuable in this life and in the life to come.
