The Habit: To Reflect On God & Be A Reflection
When I get my eyes off of the usual things and speak to my thought life to focus on the eternal;
When I reflect on God and His handiwork and the miraculous in every complex layer and the simple beauty of His;
When I don’t overthink situations or people and don’t assume;
When I remember the good advice from a certain friend, “it’s not about you...”;
When I take the beautiful creation of time to enjoy Gods love and soak in His sweet Presence;
I think it’s there that I reflect Him as I was made to do.
Life has its way of being life. It is what it is. But it doesn’t have to control the beautiful Life found in what I was created for.
“And all of us, with faces uncovered,
because we continue to reflect like mirrors
the splendor of the Lord,
are being transformed into likeness to Him,
from one degree of splendor to another,
since it comes from the Lord
who is the Spirit.
For God who said, ‘Let light shine
out of darkness,’ is the One
who has shown in my heart,
to give me the light
of the knowledge of God’s glory,
reflected on the face of Christ.
But I am keeping this jewel
in an earthen jar, to prove
that its surpassing power is God’s,
not mine.”
“He (Jesus) is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect representation of His being..”
“Therefore, my Christian brothers,
fix your thoughts on Jesus...”
