Listen Without Agenda

If you really want to hear
the cry of God’s heart,
listen.

If you are there to listen
without agenda
or pretending to already know,
you will hear.

Whenever you get the opportunity
to sit with another child of God
to simply listen,
you will hear the cry of God
in the longing that is
interweaved in their words.

He is the cipher to the code
He has placed into the heart
of His own.

And when we, His precious ones
get to know Him,
the cipher will begin
to download and unfold.

To lay it all at His feet
and to know Him.
To give up all we think we know
to listen.

The fog of this thing and that
will dissipate
and then there,
there,
it is there
He will be known.
