There Is Always The Fine Line

Everyday we wrestle.
There is so much at stake.
There are precious, spiritual things
at risk, precious people,
that might be lost or damaged
if not successful.
We wrestle with our own selves.
Each day we make choices.
Some of those are due
to pressures from peers,
some are from voices
we respect in higher positions.
Some come from the
general life demands
of all of the things around us.
Some are from our own
general world view and perceptions.
But the point is,
we go too far,
we can spend the wrong energies
on the unimportant,
the fading,
on self that needs deflated
and not inflated.
We need to come back each day,
draw back,
and reconsider prayerfully.
We go too far
without knowing it
most of the time.
Then we have to rein it back
because something has tried
to control and pull you too far
from the truly important.

People and their tender hearts,
the divine and sacred.
The family and the guidance
of eternal souls toward
their destination.
Our own delicate effect
on those around us
we often forget.
Our spirit and it’s expressive way
does forge and shape.
It can be sharp and hurt others.
It can be uncaring and roll
with force, knocking down so much
that has bravely taken so long
to stand.
It can even damage the tender,
the eternal, the things done
on the inside by God,
that we ourselves do not quite fully
understand.
We tend to think things are one way
when it is most often

quite the opposite.

We eventually find,
that to rein it in
is to take the time daily
in prayer with God.
He speaks to us directly -
His Spirit to ours in His Word.
His thoughts so much higher,
that they not only speak,
they impart Life.
He imparts Himself in you
and you are changed.
He reigns and works inside us
to see - to rein back
so that together, you are made
one with Him.
The effect of this affects everything.
The sacred and Divine
so needed deeply on our inside.
“Come away my love,”
He oft desires.
Be changed, be renewed.
Be forged in the fires of His Life.
Let His sacred scriptures
give you wisdom
that leads to salvation
through your most precious faith
that leans not on works alone,
but on Christ Jesus.

Another fine line we wrestle with daily.
One voice that screams, “works”!
Another that requires only faith
that leans on the Beloved.
And there on His breast
is found where true Life begins.
The striving can cease.
You’ve found your purpose
in His eternal heart-beat.

2 Timothy 3:13-17
“...and that from childhood you have known the sacred
Scriptures which can give you wisdom that leads
to salvation through the faith that leans on Christ Jesus.”
(Williams Translation)
