I Want To Create Something Beautiful
In the stillness of fresh morning,
in breezes flowing and birds singing
I almost always find myself
wanting to create something new.
What is it about mornings
that beckons me to this desire?
It’s interesting to me as God lives
on the inside to observe desires
of this thing and that at varying
times and seasons.
Most of us should realize by now
that God is making us into new people.
He is working deeply inside of us
and preparing us for who we will be
in eternity with Him.
It’s a huge change from what is
our normal mindset
that we were born with.
It’s counter-thinking and living.
Have you ever thought of the verses
where Jesus is calling the people
to repent? Why was He doing that?
He was telling them to “repent!
for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
In essence He was telling them
to have a change of heart and mind.
I can almost imagine Him saying,
“Turn around. Look!
The kingdom of heaven is near you.
Be changed. Enjoy the expression
and freedom you can have.
It’s a whole other world.
I want you to enjoy knowing about
and expressing your true home.
I want you to learn to enjoy and express
what it looks like to have relationships
with each other now
like you will have in my kingdom,
the kingdom of heaven.”
Shortly after telling everyone
the great news of repentance,
it says in Matthew 4, that Jesus
“...went all over Galilee, as He continued teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and curing any disease and malady among the people.”
As we live a life of a turn of heart
and a turn of mind that is on Jesus,
He changes us on the inside
to become more and more
the people who are literally
from another kingdom.
His mercies are new every morning.
Sounds like God loves to create
every morning.
He creates fresh new mercies
for all of us to reach out and enjoy.
In those new mercies,
He is waiting to refresh you
and remind you of whose you are
and fills you with His joy
because in those reminders,
He is releasing you of the junk
people have said about you
or think about you.
He releases you from the bad ways
you think about yourself
as you’ve reflected too long
on the thoughts
and opinions of others.
He restores you.
I like to think of it as a factory reset.
And we need a fresh renewal
of His thoughts towards us every day.
Those new mercies in the morning
are yours sweet child of God.
You don’t let anything rush
or push you into the day until
you’ve plunged into
those precious mercies of God.
You are a new creation.
He is stating that you are.
He is changing you from the inside-out.
Renew your mind and thinking.
Have a change of heart
that is towards God. (Repentance)
Allow all of you to soak daily
in His new mercies each morning.
Create!
Enjoy this new kingdom life
He is changing you for.
Walk with God in your heart.
Draw near to Him in the secret place.
Let other things go.
Write that song He’s given you.
Paint that picture.
Make that new music.
Buy that beautiful instrument
you’ve wanted for so long.
Plant that garden.
Enjoy taking photo's of the beauty
of God's nature all around.
Be fruitful. Multiply.
Go into all the world.
Exude the kingdom person you are.
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Blessed is the person who trusts
in Him.
Isn't religion (lifeless patterns of thinking and doing)
absolutely frustrating?
Jesus is about relationship.
Everything He says and does
is because He is in love with us
and wants us to be in love with Him
and enjoy that love with each other.
