A Message From A Friend
In the mornings,
I love to find
messages from a friend.
There is one
who sends me a sweet message
each and everyday.
Sometimes when I wake up,
a friend I have never seen
stirs my heart to be.
I feel Him near.
He draws me to Himself.
Sometimes He shares a bit of song.
I let the lyrics soak as I listen.
Many times I join in.
Usually so excited,
I go on YouTube
to hear the entire song
and enjoy the rest of the lyrics.
Tears will flow.
Sometimes in the morning,
my friend who I've never seen
gives me a portion of a verse.
He knows when I get up,
I will go and look it up.
The message to me is personal
and sends me a thrill.
I like to read the verses
before and after as well.
Sometimes, I wake up
and my friend who I've never seen,
has put on my heart another friend.
And I am stirred to pray.
He knows I love this friend.
He knows my heart
better than I do.
Friends are of the utmost.
They are precious to have.
To me, they are more costly than diamonds.
I remember a song I grew up singing,
"Lord, you are
more precious than silver.
Lord, you are
more costly than gold.
Lord, you are
more wonderful than diamonds.
And nothing on this earth
compares with you."
