The Sweetness of Relationships

There is nothing sweeter
than face to face
and heart to heart.
Nothing sweeter than in the moment;
Sharing loving imparts.

In the moment.
What a gift to enjoy;
In the moment;
and being drawn to be.

For life demands us hurry.
Life demands a plan.
The tyranny of the urgent
desires to rob
the still and the small.

There are pressures to please
and pressures to perform.
In Christ, none of these
you will find in His employ.

Simply be.
And when pressure overtakes;
simply lean.
What can harm you?
What will ruin
in the surrender?
Nothing but our pride;
I dare venture.

Oh sweetness of relationship!
Where no agenda,
no marketing plans,
no selfish ambition
and no high demands.

Just be.

What a rare find.
Like discovering a citrine jewel -
multifaceted and catching
light from every direction
to marvel and delight
in its beauty.

May He find in us
a setting for such beauty.
May He frame us for such design.
What a privilege to partake
in this glory divine!
